How to Include Plant Extracts In Your Skincare Routine

Want to know an important way to help you skin? We say: add natural plant extracts to your routine. We know it sounds a little tough, but don’t worry, we’ll show you the why, which and how you should incorporate extracts into your routine.

Why include plant extracts in your daily routine?

We already know that to maintain a healthy body, we need to keep up with healthy habits. Adding a good skincare routine to a list of daily habits that specifically adapts to your needs will go a long way. If you have already incorporated steps like cleansers, exfoliators, serums and moisturisers, let us suggest one more. Add plant oil extracts to give your skin that extra vitality it might need.

It is best to choose one that you know will work for your skin's needs. The first step is to understand that even if your skin tends to be oily, you can still find certain oils that adapt to what you're looking for. This is a reminder that each extract is different and has properties like regenerating, antioxidising, repairing or hydrating. Let us break it down.

Which extracts should I use?

These are some of the plant extracts we have found and their properties. Maybe you’ve come across a few in the past.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is very well known and used for its hydrating properties; its efficacy is similar to that of mineral oil.

Blueberry extract

Contains natural components that are responsible for the skin's calming and antioxidant properties.

Oat extract

Mainly known for its antioxidant and calming properties.

Argan oil

Most commonly known for hydrating hair, argan oil is also very beneficial for your skin. It helps keep it soft and hydrated.

How to include them in your routine?

Natural oils and plant extracts can become your new secret weapon for gorgeous-looking skin. However, it is important to know exactly how to incorporate them into your routine.

First, find the oil or extract that best suits your skin type and needs. Once you have identified this, you can opt for adding it before your hydrating cream, or even instead of it.

How? Apply a few drops of the oil/extract on to the palm of your hand and gently heat the product by rubbing your hands together. Then to apply the product to your face with a gentle massage until it fully absorbs onto your skin. If you are adding cream afterwards, make sure the product is fully absorbed before applying.
